It’s taken weeks, and countless hours, but I finally finished adding her descendants to WikiTree’s giant, shared, family tree.
Jane (see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hazlett-625) was born 1809 in Lancaster Co., PA, to Samuel & Sarah “Sally” Campbell Hazlett, a year before her grandparents, Joseph and Mary Harper Campbell (and a their younger children) sailed from Londonderry to NJ for the grand trek to what became Nelson, PA.
I wanted to fill those gaps in WikiTree before this years Campbell Reunion, Aug. 6th, 1 pm EDT, via ZOOM — in case we need to refer to WikiTree during the reunion — or before or after by those wanting to see their roots — or how we interconnect.
A ZOOM invitation to the reunion is being prepared and will be published soon for your use. In the meantime, be sure to mark Aug. 6th, 1 pm EDT on your calendars and join us then.
I don’t usually add living people to WikiTree. But I have added all of Jane’s deceased descendants that I’m aware of to WikiTree. With one exception. I haven’t entered deceased descendants IF they are a descendant of a LIVING descendant of Jane.
I said I had “finished,” but of course, family trees are never “finished.” People keep getting born, dying, marrying and divorcing. One of the good things about WikiTree is that the maintenance of its gigantic tree is a shared responsibility of almost a million genealogists. (And another is that it’s free.)
If you have a chance, visit WikiTree explore Jane’s hundreds of descendants (5 generations worth).
Or, better yet, explore you own Campbell, Lugg and/or Blackwell connection on WikiTree. Visit https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:SearchPerson and enter the name of a deceased grandparent of great-grandparent (dates help) and explore forward and backward in time.
